The 24 national teams involved in the tournament were required to register a squad of up to 26 players – of which three must be goalkeepers – by 1 June 2021, 23:59 CEST (), 10 days prior to the opening match of the tournament.
The tournament, to be held in 11 cities in 11 UEFA countries, was originally scheduled from 12 June to 12 July 2020.
